I’m not trying to be a fag, I’m just trying to stay sane. I know that there are lots of fitness-y reasons that don’t make you “fit.” I know that some people like to stay organized and healthy, but I don’t think they are all that healthy.

I have three fitness-y hobbies: I drink coffee, I take photos of myself, and I play sports. This is not a particularly healthy hobby, but it’s something I enjoy.

I’m an athlete, so I know what you mean. I have had a fitness-y addiction since I was a kid. My dad was a trainer (as well as a football coach) at a local high school and I went to the same school for my sophomore and junior years. I would go to the gym on a daily basis and I would train for everything from basketball to wrestling.

The thing is, it’s not very healthy. Most of us are not built for that kind of activity. I mean, I’m fit, but I’m not built for marathon running or climbing walls. It’s not that I don’t enjoy exercise, I’m just not built for it. All it takes is one long run for me to realize that.

In the end, we are all just bodies with the same basic set of physical needs, but we have a choice in how we respond to them. We can either train for it or we can ignore it and live with the pain. But there are some things we just can’t ignore. And it’s true that most of us don’t like to think about or plan about exercise, but we all have to admit that it is absolutely necessary for our health.

My health. It has been an ongoing issue with me. I have been injured in the past, so my body wants to repair and regenerate itself. But my health doesn’t care about me. It is about survival. And that is why I think workout is necessary, to keep us on the roads.
